CERCLA/SuperfundAWR personnel bring considerable experience working on many state and federal Superfund sites. We have performed, supported, and/or produced:
- Remedial Action Plans (RAP)
- Preliminary Endangerment Assessments (PEAs)
- Remedial Investigation and Feasibility Studies (RI/FS)
- Remedial Design Plans
- Records of Decision (ROD)
- Remedial Action Completion Reports (RACR)
- Human and Ecological Risk Assessments (HHRA, ERAs)
We have experience with high public scrutiny and media exposure. We have investigated and/or remediated a variety of sites, such as U.S. military installations (Army, Navy, Air Force), U.S. DOE facilities, industry (manufacturing, petrochemical, wood-treating, high-tech, plating, etc.), and mines (gold, uranium).
AWR has addressed a variety of different chemicals at these sites including organics (e.g., chlorinated solvents and pesticides), to metals (e.g., mercury, lead, arsenic), and radioactive substances (e.g., alpha, beta, gamma emitters).
Military Land Conveyance (BRAC, FOST & FOSET)
AWR also specializes in support in the conveyance and reuse of military installations. We can provide legal, environmental, planning, administration, as well as assistance in obtaining grants. AWR also prepares NCP-consistent documents for the investigation, remediation, and closure of properties transacted under the Polanco Act and early-transferred Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) sites.
AWR has assisted with the transfer and closure of military sites including Finding of Suitability to Transfer (FOST) and early transfer (FOSET). AWR can also provide environmental insurance support services for the transfer of military land for reuse by local municipalities, counties or other reuse agencies.
Brownfield RedevelopmentAWR also has provided support for Brownfield redevelopments under CERCLA guidance. We have experience working with local redevelopment agencies to secure grants and permits to support cleanup and redevelopment of brownfield sites.
